TSA Guidelines: flying with a prosthetic
Inform the TSA Officer
Before screening begins, inform the TSA officer about the location of a prosthesis, cast, support brace, sling or support appliance.
You may voluntarily remove your prosthesis, cast, support brace, sling or support appliance prior to screening and submit it for X-ray screening.
Screening in Standard Lanes
Your prosthesis, cast, support brace, sling or support appliance is subject to additional screening, including inspection, hand-held metal detector screening, a test of your hands, and a test of the medical device for trace of explosives. If your support brace alarms during this process, it must be removed for X-ray screening.
Screening in TSA PreCheck® Lanes
Additional screening is required if your prosthesis, cast, support brace, sling or support appliance sets of the alarms in the WTMD or AIT. If required, the TSA officer will direct you to conduct a self-pat down of the medical device, test your hands for trace of explosives, and conduct hand-held metal detector screening on the medical device.

One Chair At A Time is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for adolescents and young adults with physical disabilities by providing sports wheelchairs, education, and opportunities for participation in adaptive sports. Service Animals
Trained service animals as defined by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) are welcomed at the Don Haskins Center. Service animals must remain on a leash or in a harness at all times, unless special circumstances exist, and are required to rest in the seating area of the guest with the disability, rather than the aisle. Guests may take their service animal outside of the venue to relieve itself, but must speak with a Guest Services Supervisor prior to leaving the venue. A guest whose service animal poses a threat to the safety of other Arena the premises.
ASL Interpreters
To request an ASL interpreter, please contact the UTEP Office of Special Events at (915) 747-5481 or email Brandon Martinez at bgmartinez4@utep.edu at least two weeks in advance of the event. Proof of ticket purchase is required to confirm interpreter services.

To access upper west wheelchair seats, take elevator located outside of sections 8 & 9, from concourse level to level three (3).

To access wheelchair seating on the concourse level, enter through the section vomitorium and proceed directly to your seats.
Floor Wheelchair Seat Access
Floor seating availability is determined on an event-by-event basis. When offered, access to floor seating is provided through the South Tunnel Entrance.

Consumer-controlled, community-based, cross-disability, nonresidential, private nonprofit agencies who provide independent living services. At a minimum, centers funded by the program are required to provide the following independent living core services:
- Information and referral;
- IIL skills training;
- Peer counseling;
- Individual and systems advocacy; and
- Services that facilitate transition from nursing homes and other institutions to the community, provide assistance to those at risk of entering institutions, and facilitate transition of youth to postsecondary life.
Centers also may provide, among other services: psychological counseling, assistance in securing housing or shelter, personal assistance services, transportation referral and assistance, physical therapy, mobility training, rehabilitation technology, recreation, and other services necessary to improve the ability of individuals with significant disabilities to function independently in the family or community and/or to continue in employment.

Lauren Scruggs Kennedy Foundation
The Lauren Scruggs Kennedy Foundation provides funding for girls and women to receive cosmetic silicone coverings for their prostheses, with the hope that they will experience both physical and spiritual restoration and healing. With the many changes in insurance costs and provisions, most amputees no longer have access to custom silicone restorations that can make their prosthesis look real.
